Self Care Week

NHS Shropshire CCG is supporting Self Care Week 2018, which runs 12 – 18 November. This year’s theme is “Choosing Self Care for Life.” GPs in Shropshire are joining the campaign to raise awareness of how people can choose self care for a healthier, happier life. For more information click here

Extended Access – Local GP practices working together to offer more convenient appointment times for patients

As from 1st October, 2018, we will be part of a network of practices (known as ‘hubs’) in Shropshire, working together to offer patients ‘Extended Access’ to pre-bookable appointments - in the evenings, at the weekend and during bank holidays.

Clinics & Services

In addition to general GP consultations there are more specialist clinics that run through the week in

asthma_inhaler_3 the Bayston Hill Surgery:

Asthma Clinic

This is a clinic for established asthmatics to review asthma control and treatment. It is predominately a nurse led clinic with doctor support.

Minor Surgery

In this clinic minor skin and nail surgery is performed. People are referred from doctors in the practice if it is felt the problem can be dealt with in the minor surgery clinic. This is a doctor led service.

Phlebotomy Sessions

Available on Mondays, Thursdays and alternate Tuesday mornings. Also at Dorrington on alternate Tuesday mornings.


Diabetic Clinic

This is a clinic for diagnosed diabetics to review diabetic control and treatment. It is predominately nurse led with doctor support.

Childhood Vaccinations

Routine childhood immunisations are given by our nurses.

COPD and Spirometry Clinic

This is a clinic for diagnosed patients to review treatment. It is predominately nurse led with doctor support.
